It was created to lubricate and protect against the severe heat, friction, and pressures of continuous shooting while lowering friction and wear. Its special composition is made to stop rust and corrosion caused by rain and moisture in freshwater and saltwater environments.

When applied to metal surfaces and bores, corrosion will be stopped during long-term storage. With an 80 LB Timken load, Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Grease withstands high pressures and cushions metal surfaces (35 LB is the minimum industry standard).
