The Remington Model 870 is a pump-action shotgun family available in numerous hunting, field, tactical and home-defense configurations. Common differences include wood or synthetic furniture, stock shape, forearm length, barrel length, magazine-tube configuration, sights and mounted accessories.

These variations can substantially change the exterior surface area and the amount of vinyl required.
